The Emerald Coast is made up of several small cities. They all have their own flavor and the real estate varies as well. Destin enjoys many tourists and most of the real estate is within close proximity to the beach. As you make your way east of Destin, you start to cross into Walton County through Miramar and down to the luxury 30-A area. Across the Mid-Bay Bridge you enter Niceville. There are lots of bayous and bayfront property in this tight community. Niceville is close to Eglin AFB and Duke Field. Wrapping around the base to the west you will find Shalimar and then Fort Walton Beach. FWB has strong business ties and the FWB Hospital and accompanying healthcare industry. It is ideally located between Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB. Mary Esther and Navarre bring us back to the sandy white beaches and are next to Hurlburt Field. Navarre has a large military presence and housing is affordable in this area. Finally, traveling north up Hwy 85 and 123, we find Crestview at I-10. It’s a close jaunt to Pensacola and is close to Duke Field.
